Teagan : Baby Session

Thank heaven for little girls, for little girls get bigger every day! Thank heaven for little girls, they grow up in the most delightful way! This is what was playing in my head as I was sitting editing these photos…I might have had a few too many cups of coffee, but how can this little girls not make you think of this song. Teagan was such a happy little girl while we were taking her photos. She has beautiful giant eyes and was a pleasure to photograph. Congrats to Michelle & Gary, enjoy your little princess :)

Brayden : Baby Session

Since having my own baby, who really isn’t a baby anymore, I find myself wanting to cuddle these cute, adorable, snugly little ones more then I want to take pictures of them. Okay so that is kind of a lie. I love to do both, but I do try to sneak in some cuddle time in between poses ;) Baby Brayden was all about the snuggles. He was just so cute and such a good boy as we went from basket to blankets to boppie…we might have even had him in a hard hat…I hope you enjoy your pictures and I can’t wait for more Brayden visits :)

Melissa & Trevor : Engagement Session

Melissa and Trevor are a couple I met from one of my past brides, so when they contacted me about their wedding I already knew they were amazingly awesome. What I didn’t know was how adorable they would be to photograph. We headed over to Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown for some romantic waterfall photos…if your idea of romantic photos was to be sharing the spot light with a little old fisherman then you were in luck. However for us this was not the look we were going for. At first we shot around the old man and then we politely asked him to move. He either did not understand us or he just did not care…the two feet that he moved was barely enough to tightly crop him. After joking about the fisherman in our pictures we finished up and headed over to Wesleyan to finish our session. You both totally rocked and I can not wait for the upcoming wedding!!

Sterling Opera House : Derby CT

The Sterling Opera House, built in 1889 hosted many great singers and performers during its many years of operation. Its lower levels also served as the towns City Hall and Police Station. Being abandoned for many years it is now claimed to host ghosts…

Since we are always looking for somewhere new and exciting for our photo sessions, when we came across this venue the creative juices went crazy. Maybe it was because its claimed to be haunted,  or maybe because it is not open to the public, but one thing was for certain…we HAD to shoot in this venue. Teamed up with the amazing duo from Maler Photography, Mike & Marcie, we headed to the Opera House on April 2, 2011…the 122nd anniversary of the Opera House. Together with two brave models, an amazing dress,  beautiful flowers, and a ton of camera/video equipment we spent the afternoon in the ‘haunted’ venue. Although we did not see any ghosts, the venue definitely had a haunted aura about it. While Marcie and I were snapping away capturing still photographs, Mike was  in charge of the video footage. (you can check out the video Mike put together here) The Opera House has so many amazing architectural details that I had to include some, well maybe a lot, of them in my post.

A recent visit from TAPS, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, has given the once quiet Opera House some much deserved media exposure. Efforts to restore the opera house have been going on for some time now, but as we all know projects like this cost lots of money. Hopefully with all the recent attention they will find a way to restore this beautiful building. To learn more about efforts to restore the Sterling Opera House please visit http://www.saveoursterling.org/index.html.

One last note…Since the Opera House is not currently open to the public I must thank Uncle Tony for allowing us access for the afternoon…A big thanks to Rich Dicarlo for accompanying us as well as sharing all his Sterling knowledge and stories…To our models who were troopers in the chilly temperatures, Bridal Trousseau for an amazing dress, Blush Floral Design Studio for beautiful flowers and Flaunt My Feathers for a one of a kind hairpiece. We could not have done this without you! Keep scrolling so you do not miss any of the Sterling Opera House goodies :)

Michelle & Gary : Maternity Session

A new year and a new round of happy expecting parents! Michelle and Gary are starting off the 2011 blog with a baby bump session :)   This February the couple will welcome a little girl into their family and they could not be happier! She is going to be one lucky baby to have such an awesome Mommy and Daddy. We picked the perfect day to do this session. Snow still covered the ground, but the temperature was just warm enough to be outside without being bundled up. Enjoy the last few weeks of being pregnant Michelle and I can’t wait to meet the little one!

Juliana Fraioli : Singer-Songwriter Portrait Session

You may recognize this beautiful face from my previous blog post, but this time we are giving all the attention to Juliana. This Singer-Songwriter has it all. She is beautiful, has an amazing voice and a personality that is full of energy! After spending the day with her (and her equally awesome fiance) I felt like we have been best friends forever. Accompanied by her brother on stage, these two are quite the pair. If you have not checked them out already I suggest you do! Juliana Fraioli Music I had an amazing time working with you and I wish you lots of luck (and photos) in your music career….(I also am very excited for next years wedding)

Juliana & Ryan : Engagement Session Newport, RI

A unique location + a beautiful couple + a little music = Juliana and Ryan’s amazing engagement session. When Juliana requested taking photos at the Newport Art Museum I was totally psyched. I love art and love taking pictures so it was a great combination, plus who would not want to photograph these two! Juliana is a singer ( we will get more into that in her own portrait session post ) and Ryan plays guitar, which makes these two even more awesome. We spent hours exploring the museum and finding some awesome places to shoot. I hope you guys had as much fun as I did! I can’t wait for your wedding!!

Brittany & Nick : Engagement Session Milford, CT

A few weeks back Brittany, Nick and I spent the morning walking around in downtown Milford…as we walked they stopped to pose and I snapped away. These two were troopers and were even game for some close snuggly shots…keep in mind downtown Milford can be very busy on a Saturday morning, so when I say they were troopers it is because they had plenty of people watching them! However, the end result was well worth it. Both being extreme Yankee fans we had to show some the team some love during part of our session. We changed it up by heading to a nearby baseball field to complete our session. Here is just a peak at some of the shots from the day. Enjoy guys! I can’t wait for the wedding!

Steph and Kaelyn : Mother and Daughter

With Thanksgiving fast approaching I felt it was a good time to share with you some things I am thankful for…We will start with these two beautiful girls…my little sister Stephanie and my niece Kaelyn. Sometimes I do not know what I would do without these two. We have lunch dates, shopping sprees, and sleepovers…plus they are awesome babysitters. My sister makes regular appearances on the blog but, we had not done a session of the two of them together since Kaelyn was a baby! We headed to the linear trail in Wallingford to capture some quality time between Mother and Daughter. Love you both! Enjoy!
